Local Branches
Local branches form the backbone of the Party, where DLP members work together to support the DLP and advance the Party’s principles, objectives and platform through a range of activities. Typical activities may include membership drives, fundraising, policy development, activism and election campaigning.
Members are encouraged to attend their local branch meetings, at which they can:
- report on issues of social or political concern, identify the DLP principles relevant to the issues;
- instigate action on the issues; and/or
- propose organisational or policy motions for the agenda at any subsequent State Conference or State Executive meeting.
Local branches nominate delegates to attend State Conference and State Executive meetings. Delegates to State Conference may further nominate for election as State Executive officers or as Federal Conference delegates.
