The Democratic Labour Party has been informed by the Victorian Electoral Commission that following a review, the Commission is satisfied that the DLP has at least 500 members in Victoria and therefore the Party retains its registration.
Thank you to all our members who responded to a letter sent by the VEC to confirm their membership with the Party.
The DLP was recently de-registered on a federal level with the Australian Electoral Commission along with several other minor parties including the Australian Democrats and the Australian Sex Party. However, the fact that is has been proved that the DLP has at least 500 members in Victoria alone should be a strong case for the AEC to reconsider its decision.
