As we see out the end of this first week of pre polling, we can attest to the enthusiasm from Victorians to see an end to this corrupt Andrews Government and work toward representation that protects freedom, our families, our workers and a fair economy.
Our candidates and volunteers have been out in rain, hail and shine (as only Melbourne offers in a single day sometimes!)
Amidst the conversations in person and on social media, beyond the important ones about policies, the issue of preference deals has arisen.
This has seen a lot of unnecessary confusion among voters and, in order to stay on track with our goal of getting the BEST representatives in for Victorians, we hearby issue a statement in the interest of full transparency and continuity of care for our constituents:

Statement from the Democratic Labour Party re Glenn Drurey: 18th Nov 2022
The Democratic Labour Party (Labour DLP) approached these Victorian State elections with some of our best candidates in history and with the objective of ousting the Andrew’s government for the sake of our state and nation.
For this reason, like any political party, we had some discussions with multiple office bearers of other parties as well as various political consultants who could advise us on preferencing in order to give our candidates the best chance possible at securing their seats.
One of these advisors was a person named Glenn Drurey who was recommended to us by conservative lobbyists.
While we considered Mr Drurey’s advice, no money was ever exchanged in the consultation process.
Ultimately our State Campaign Committee auto-determined who to preference.
Labour DLP pride ourselves on being above corruption in politics. It’s something we expressly stand against and seek to have no part of (see points around this in our POLICIES.)
No DLP candidate was ever aware of any preferencing discussions, just as they also remain unaware of a number of campaign elements from fundraising through to final candidate selection and more.
We trust that our faithful constituents will appreciate our efforts to this end and vote below the line for the Upper House to ensure the best person wins.
The 2022 Victorian Elections has seen a record number of candidate nominations come through to stand for the Democratic Labor Party across the state and after screening some truly outstanding citizens, we are confident our candidates represent a real conservative alternative for our community.
